Wilderness

This is a photo that has a lot of personal meaning to me, as it was taken on a backpack trip with my son (his first). This is Gem Lake in the Caribou Wilderness near Mt. Lassen in Northern California. This area was also heavily affected by the Dixie Fire, so this is yet another precious memory of pristine pre-fire wilderness, which (although still beautiful) will never look the same in my lifetime.
