I waited a long time for this shot. I was sitting in my kayak, hoping that when this eagle eventually took off, it would go in the direction of that pine tree for a more interesting composition. Not only did it cooperate, but it waited about a half an hour until the rising sun lit up the scene at the top of the snag it was perched on, giving me great light for the moment when it finally decided to go.
