Speedgoat

In my opinion, the pronghorn is the closest thing we have to an African animal in North America. Most people call them “antelope,” although technically they are not an antelope, but are more closely related to giraffes. They are the second fastest land animal on earth, but you’d never guess it by looking at one. These guys are really fascinating, beautiful animals with probably the greatest nickname in the animal kingdom. We have them close to home in Lassen County, CA, but my experience is that ours are usually more shy than this one, which posed for me in Montana.
