River Bear

The same “mama bear” as the one in the image called “Threat Assessment,” this is a coastal brown bear in the Brooks River, Alaska, doing what brown bears do… keeping an eye out for salmon while patrolling the river in search of calories. This series of photos are some of my favorites from the Brooks River, because I was in a position where I could get really low and shoot from water level, emphasizing the size and power of these bears.
