Rain Bear

One of my favorite shots from the Brooks River in Alaska, this image sums up the wildness of Katmai National Park to me. Emerging from the river soaking wet into a steady rain, this bear seems to embody the way that these giants go through life, with no natural predators and confidence that can only come with a bodyweight approaching 1000 pounds.
