Northern Lights Panorama

Displayed in the gallery at 48x25 on metal

Seeing and photographing the Aurora Borealis was a bucket list item that I was able to check off in February of 2024. My wife and I traveled to the Fairbanks, Alaska area and spent a week doing all the Alaska winter things… ice sculptures, dogsledding, and very little sleep as we waited for this moment to finally happen after several days of heavy cloud cover and anxiety. This final shot is a stitched panorama, shot in two rows of vertical exposures. The forecasted low this night was -22*F, but we were blessed by a heatwave, and it was only 10 below while I was out shooting this.
