Mt. Lassen and Manzanita Lake

Displayed in the gallery at 54x24 on archival varnished canvas

It’s hard to image a prettier scene than the one from the north end of Manzanita Lake in Lassen Volcanic National Park. Looking south at Mt Lassen, it’s especially pretty in this spot when there’s snow on the peak. This calm evening made the lake extra still and reflective, providing a great opportunity for a reflection shot. I printed this one at 54x24 for the gallery, specifically to cover the old transom window above the door. The window had been covered by a construction project from the outside, and it looked pretty odd. This stretched canvas fit just inside the window trim, almost making it look framed. The original panorama is taller than this crop, making custom sizes fairly easy.
