The last bit of sunlight illuminates the upper portions of the Matterhorn before the sun sinks below the neighboring ridge of the Swiss Alps. photographed from Zermatt, this iconic view of the matterhorn was animated on this evening by the winds and cloud formations streaming off of the mountain while being turned pink by the sunset light. The mountain is impressive enough as it is, but this was quite a show.
