Late Summer Sierra

Sometimes it’s the memories associated with a photo that make it special. I shot this one from the boat. We were cruising slowly back to the dock after a day of playing with the family. The sun was about to dip below the mountain, sending us home to find something to BBQ some dinner. Another perfect, warm, late August evening. This mom and her two fawns were enjoying the abundant food and easy days of summer along the shore. One of those “vast, calm, measureless mountain days” that John Muir was talking about.
