Returning to a deer kill in the middle of the night, this mountain lion demonstrates the alertness that keeps these guys off of most people’s radar most of the time. It’s always a thrill to catch one of these cats on trail cameras or camera traps, and getting a good shot of the face is icing on the cake. This was captured in March of 2024 in Lassen County near Susanville, CA.
